you can do what ever you want to do. But remember don't try and pass yourself off as something your not. Surfing is fun not a job. enjoy it don't go out there to look cool. Go out because you love it.

I read a qoute in a magazine that said, "No Sponsor, No Sticker." Does that mean that you can't put their stickers on your board? But then why do they sell them in local shops to put on your board? Please Help!

Ohhh yeah its alright!! Just try not to put them on the bottom of the board. if you get too many of them on the bottom of the board it will affect the way your board glides through the water.

Yes, it's okay.
I'm not sure what you read or where you read it but you probably took it out of context.
Stickers and wax combs are sold along with board shorts so that you'll use them on your board. Even if you aren't being sponsored, it's exposure for the company. Like when you buy a t-shirt with a brand logo on it.

There is no rule that say you can't. If you do just be conscious of where you put them and how big they are. No sense looking like you're trying to pass yourself off as being sponsored.
Example: A friend of mine owns a surf shop. I have his shop logo on all my boards and my car. I don't want to try to pass myself off as being a team rider so I don't put them on the nose or the rail.

"no sponsor, no sticker". People who put those stickers on their board are poseurs, trying to imitate the pros in their appearance rather than their surfing. Be yourself, develop your own style.

Yeah, you can. The companies want you to. It's like free advertising for them. :)
